Senior Photo's

I know I have been so neglectful of my poor blog it wouldn't hardly let me log in... I don't think it recognized me.... LOL.....

I have been super busy and trying to edit all my senior photo's and just haven't had time to do much sharing of them.....

This is Trista and Desi's that we did at the coast.... We had so much fun doing them and the girls are so beautiful it was hard to choose our favorite's but here are some that we really liked....

We took some of them together just goofing around...

Then we drove down to Bandon and spent the night and got up in the morning to finish the shoot...

We had these white dresses that I was determined the girls were going to wear on the beach and they were soooooooo cold but they did it anyway.... Thanks girls.....I love you......

We did a few more in Old town Bandon but the girls were getting tired so we ate and then came home... 

I still want to do some fall ones of them before they choose the one for the yearbook.

Update at last...

I can't believe how long it has been since I posted but I have been super busy and now I think things are going to slow down a bit and I may be able to post a little more often. I need to have about 10 posts to get caught up but this is a good start.

Jamie and I didn't go to Italy and Scotland as planned because a couple of days before we were to leave her Dad had a heart attack and was in the hospital. He had to be transported to Portland and he is still there. He is doing better and showing signs of improvement so he may get to come home in a few days. It has been a nighmare for everyone and we weren't sure if he was going to pull through or not. I do thank God we were not already over there and had to come home. I was really looking forward to seeing everyone again but we will probably go at a later date. It is just very scary leaving to go that far when your parents health is not good so I think we will be sticking around home for awhile. 

I am working on Trista and Desi's Senior photos that we took at the coast and I hope to get them done this week-end since Jim is hunting and I have the whole week-end to myself. I don't plan on leaving home so I can get them done.

I did a couple of photoshoots with baby Maddie so I thought I would post them so everyone can see how she is growing. She is just so adorable and I can't wait for Gracie to get here. I must say time is going by fast this time.

Katie wanted to get some photo's of herself with Maddie so I went down last Sunday and got these.

Just 1 Hour

What can you do in just 1 hr???? Jenn and Shane went to a funeral on Wed. so I took my lunch hr. and went over to stay with Carter. I decided I was going to just take him to the park because he LOVES to go to the park. He doesn't like the swings but he told me he was going to go on the round and round. I thought oh there must be a merry-go-round there but no it was a slide that goes round and round.
Here he comes....

He climbs right up there...

Then he went round and round...

This is the only thing he wanted to do over and over so after about 20 times I asked him if he wanted to go for a walk around the park and he said yes...He always takes a dump truck or tractor with him wherever he goes...We could run the truck on the table a few times....

Or we could just sit on the table for awhile...

We could water the bear...but he said it was very hard.....

I asked him if he wanted to run his truck down the ramp but he said no so I showed him how to make his dump truck wreck and then all I heard was " Carter's turn" LOL I did a video but I don't know how to upload it here so Jenn is going to have to show me how.

He thought that was a lot of fun...

This must have been a bad wreck....

After a lot of wrecks I asked him if he wanted to go get some ice cream????   That produced a dance and a "I want ice cream"... He doesn't get too many sugar things(but what are Nan's for?) so when he does he really enjoys it.....Can ya tell ?????

OOPS>>>> " Nana it fall off"....

Nana can fix it with just a napkin....Well maybe not perfect but I fixed it....

Well maybe I will just have some of Nana's...

Wow that was a big bite.....

maybe I will just eat my little one....

This thing is getting pretty messy and he doesn't like to have his hands all messy..

Maybe I can put it all in my mouth and then it won't drip...All gone......

We had a great time in just 1 hr. He was getting tired and ready for his nap so we went back to his house to wait for Mom so they could take their nap and I went back to work... That was a great lunch hour.....

Introducing Miss Madeleine Lynn

I thought I better get busy and update this blog before everyone decides to quit checking it LOL..

While I was in Ohio at convention little Miss Maddie decided to make her appearance. I was really disappointed that I wasn't able to be at the hospital for the first photo's but when I got back we set up a time to take some. She is so precious and beautiful. I love all her hair as my kids and all but 1 grandchild (Terak) didn't have any.
Congratulations to Katie and Jaysen on their beautiful daughter born August Th. She weighed in at lbs. Oz. and 18" long.
Also Congratulations to first time Grandparents Lourie and Chris Archuleta and of course UNCLE Kyle.
My sister Donna is also a great grandma now.... Yikes!!!!!!

I took a ton of photo's and she was so good for us....My friend Phyllis (Thanks Phyl) made this cocoon for me to use. There was a hat but Maddie was having none of that...

So sweet....

Everyone that knows her Mom and Grandparent know that they are very involved with the rodeo so we had to do these.

Class Reunion

 Last week-end we had our Myrtle Creek class of 63=64=65 reunion. It was held at Stanton Park in Canyonville.

It was so great to see some of our old classmates that we haven't seen since the last reunion. Lots of people didn't make it this year so I hope they will make it for the next one. I really enjoyed visiting with friends and getting caught up on everyones lives. Most are retired now and are either just enjoying getting some traveling in or spending more time with the kidds and grandkids.

The weather was great after the heat wave we had the week before so it was nice to sit out in the shade and just relax. We had a wonderful Hawaiian BBQ for lunch with lots of fruit salads and cookies too. Of course I spent a lot of time taking pictures of everyone as well as the class pictures of 63-64-. I was in the 65 one and had someone else take it. i will be getting a remote so that I can set my camera on a tripod next time I am in the photo.

All in all it was a success and I am not sure when the next one is but I plan to keep in touch with a few people that I haven't in the last years. Next year I am going to go to my class reunion in Maine where I still keep in touch with some classmates from there.

 

I am in Ohio right now at a convention with Jamie. she had classes all day yesterday and then the trade floor opened last night from 5:30 until 9. We were exhausted and just came back to the room and got ready for bed. I didn't even feel like eating so I was glad I brought some chex mix and trail  mix with me because that was dinner and then to sleep. I feel pretty good this morning just a bit hungry. I am having a coffee so that always fixes everything LOL.... We have the trade show today tomorrow and Sat. then it is pack-upthat night and we will fly home early on Sunday. I miss my Carter and can't wait to get home and play with him.

I hear Congratulations are in order for Katie and Jason on the arrival of baby Maddie...... I wish I had been there to take photo's of her right away but I will make up for that when I get back. I can't wait to see her. Congratulations Grandma Lourie..... and remember to share even if it is hard LOL.....

Well I better get ready and go eat before we start the day..... Hope everyone has a great week.....

Can you say PINK????????

Well I know that most of you already know that Jenn is having a girl and needless to say we are tickled "pink". We went to Eugene for her ultrasound yesterday and we were there for 4 hrs. at the hospital while they were getting ready and all that stuff. I will let Jenn tell the details. Anyway when we finally get in there baby will not get in the right position so Jenn says "That is what I get for saying I didn't want to find out" LOL... She was pretty anxious once she decided to find out so of course her tummy was in knots and then they came to take her blood pressure and I said well it is probably sky high now that she can't see what baby is. The first tec. was an intern and she thought she could tell but didn't tell us so the reg. tec. came in and got right to work and then said " I'ts a little girl" We were both thrilled of course and since Carter has already calling her a "sissy" we told him look there is your baby sissy. I took him back out in the waiting room because he had had it by then with all that waiting and he just wanted to go "In Nanna car???" When we got to the waiting room he said "I see Gracie"??? so I had to tell him she was gone night night.... LOL.... Well then a little celebrating for Nana.... Jenn and Carter went up to Portland so my sister Donna and I went shopping..... WOO HOO!!!!!!!! here is a start on Gracie's wardrobe... LOL...

I can't wait to take pictures of her.... I also can't wait to go shopping when we go to Italy and Scotland in Sep.Oct.................. Jamie and I are going to have fun..... We had fun shopping for Carter in Rome but we kept looking at all the cute girl clothes too..........

Anyway enough of my babbling on and on like a Nana and I just want to say we would have been happy with either as long as it was healthy and the fact that it is a girl is just the icing on the cake....

Busy Summer

It has been a busy summer for me and it doesn't look like it is going to slow down anytime soon.
At work we are busy trying to get ready to go to the HOOT convention in Ohio in Aug. For those of you that don't know it is a decorative painting convention where Jamie will be teaching and we will also have a booth to sell her books and pattern packets. We have never been to this one before so it is going to be all new to us. I hear it is very hot there with lots of humidity so that part I am not looking forward to but seeing everyone will be great. 

I am going all pink so I am thinking positive for Carter to get  a little sissy. Oh O.K. for me too ;o) 

I am going to keep my blog pink until we find out on the 7th of Aug.

Our class reunion is coming up in a couple of weeks and I can't believe it has been 44 years. We combine the class of 63-64-65 so it is our classes 44 instead of 45. I am looking forward to seeing everyone again and get caught up on everyone's life.
I have been swimming with Jenn and Carter and my sister Donna at Jamie's for the last few nights instead of walking so I think we will get back to walking since the weather has cooled off. I am still going to curves and walking in the morning but I just can't seem to lose any weight. I do feel good so I guess I will just have to be patient since I already know my body is resistant to letting go of the pounds LOL.
I am going to photograph a wedding in August when I get back from H.O.O.T. so we had a little get acquainted session a couple of weeks ago. I had so much fun with this family.... They wanted to include the dogs so it was quite a challenge to get everyone looking in the same direction at once. The littlest dog is so feisty it can hardly be still 1 second. It was hilarious.....this was as close as we could get....

Summer Fun

I think I am getting too many things going and I don't get anything done... LOL... Oh O.K. I get some things done but I sure have been a blog slacker lately.
I have been very busy with baseball and softball teams pictures and getting them done takes a lot of time. Trista helped me a lot with the paper work and I sure was glad she was available to help me. Not only did she keep the papers organized she also had to let me take pictures of her so I could get my settings right. Thanks Trista I couldn't have done it without you.....
 O. K. Nana I will just stand here....

I have been walking every evening with Jenn, Carter and my sister Donna " Aunt Donna" as Carter says.I also joined Curves so I walk down there at 5 AM and walk back home after... About 1 mile total but it all helps.... I am determined to lose this weight.....

I push Carter in the jogger on the evening walk and he has so much fun. He always is seeing things and says " I see jeep"... "I see water truck" His Dad has a water truck so he knows trucks.... He also is at the stage where he repeats exactly what you say. He fell down and I said "Oh did that hurt?" and he said " Yes that hurt" so cute...... I love hearing him talk... We can't understand everything he says but he says it over and over until we get it right.... I have been enjoying having him here and seeing him almost every day.... Now that is how it should be.......
It has been so darn hot over the 4th that Jenn got all of us to go to the pool.... Here are a few pictures I took.... I didn't go in this day I just took pictures..

Every once in awhile I get to "babysit" Carter for a couple of hrs. so Jenn can get her nails done.... The last time I did I got out the bubble machine and we played bubbles for about 1/2 hr. or so...
At first he tried to catch them...

Then decided it might be more fun to hit them with a fly swatter....

That didn't work too well so he is just standing there looking at them...

Well the heck with it " I'm done with this game".....

Papa was making frames for his bee boxes and had everything out when Carter came to go walking...
Well he discovered the nails and of course spilled them out of the jar...

Papa gave him a magnet so he could pick them back up......

That kept him entertained for quite some time... Then the next morning Papa had to sort them all out again....LOL.....

Do I have other grandchildren you ask???????
Of course but I just don't get as many pictures of them as I don't see them as often.....
Terak had his 20th birthday... HUH????? How did that happen???? I couldn't have a 20 year old grandson already.......Meghan will be "21" this year Yikes!!!!!!!!!
Jim had went crabbing and clamming so we had a little party for Terak here..... A friend of Danna's makes these quilts out of the kids old sports t-shirts so Danna did a scrapbook for her and she made this quilt for Terak out of his wrestling shirts.... It is really cool and he loved it.

 

Whenever we went to a tournament I always bought him a shirt so he had lots of them... Another great way to preserve memories....

 

I made him some peanut butter cupcakes for his birthday.... I used chocolate frosting instead of peanut butter and they weren't as good....

Carter is eyeballing the cupcakes... He loves cupcakes.....
