Summer Fun

I think I am getting too many things going and I don't get anything done... LOL... Oh O.K. I get some things done but I sure have been a blog slacker lately.
I have been very busy with baseball and softball teams pictures and getting them done takes a lot of time. Trista helped me a lot with the paper work and I sure was glad she was available to help me. Not only did she keep the papers organized she also had to let me take pictures of her so I could get my settings right. Thanks Trista I couldn't have done it without you.....
 O. K. Nana I will just stand here....

I have been walking every evening with Jenn, Carter and my sister Donna " Aunt Donna" as Carter says.I also joined Curves so I walk down there at 5 AM and walk back home after... About 1 mile total but it all helps.... I am determined to lose this weight.....

I push Carter in the jogger on the evening walk and he has so much fun. He always is seeing things and says " I see jeep"... "I see water truck" His Dad has a water truck so he knows trucks.... He also is at the stage where he repeats exactly what you say. He fell down and I said "Oh did that hurt?" and he said " Yes that hurt" so cute...... I love hearing him talk... We can't understand everything he says but he says it over and over until we get it right.... I have been enjoying having him here and seeing him almost every day.... Now that is how it should be.......
It has been so darn hot over the 4th that Jenn got all of us to go to the pool.... Here are a few pictures I took.... I didn't go in this day I just took pictures..

He wanted to get on the slide but not slide down it....

Every once in awhile I get to "babysit" Carter for a couple of hrs. so Jenn can get her nails done.... The last time I did I got out the bubble machine and we played bubbles for about 1/2 hr. or so...
At first he tried to catch them...

Then decided it might be more fun to hit them with a fly swatter....

That didn't work too well so he is just standing there looking at them...

Well the heck with it " I'm done with this game".....

Papa was making frames for his bee boxes and had everything out when Carter came to go walking...
Well he discovered the nails and of course spilled them out of the jar...

Papa gave him a magnet so he could pick them back up......

That kept him entertained for quite some time... Then the next morning Papa had to sort them all out again....LOL.....

Do I have other grandchildren you ask???????
Of course but I just don't get as many pictures of them as I don't see them as often.....
Terak had his 20th birthday... HUH????? How did that happen???? I couldn't have a 20 year old grandson already.......Meghan will be "21" this year Yikes!!!!!!!!!
Jim had went crabbing and clamming so we had a little party for Terak here..... A friend of Danna's makes these quilts out of the kids old sports t-shirts so Danna did a scrapbook for her and she made this quilt for Terak out of his wrestling shirts.... It is really cool and he loved it.

 

Whenever we went to a tournament I always bought him a shirt so he had lots of them... Another great way to preserve memories....

 

I made him some peanut butter cupcakes for his birthday.... I used chocolate frosting instead of peanut butter and they weren't as good....

Carter is eyeballing the cupcakes... He loves cupcakes.....

Denny and Danielle didn't want to many posed shots they wanted more photo of the friends and family so that is what I did. I so enjoyed visiting with everyone ( well as much visiting as I could get in) I had to make a smilebox since there were so many photo.

The evening was upon us and I got a couple of shots of Danielle by the pond.

I took about 1200 pictures of the entire wedding and reception so this is just a few. I will post some pictures of the reception next time and then on to other things.....

Denny and Danielle Wedding

First let me say a little about the wedding.It was held at Delfino's Winery in Melrose which was a very beautiful setting.  Danielle is a planner and she is the most organized person that I know. She had everything down to the min. for this wedding and she checked every detail. It went almost as planned. One person (I won't mention names here) was a little late so we weren't able to get very many before pictures of the bride and bridesmaids so while Jenn and Colleen were taking pictures(and it looks like helping them get dressed) of the guys getting ready I was with the girls.
  I am going to have a few blogs about the wedding so here is the first one. These pictures are all unedited because if I took the time to edit all of them they wouldn't get posted for another week.

Happy Birthday Honey

Just wanted to say Happy Birthday to my Honey as he is a bee keeper and loves to get swarms. I think it is just the challenge to see if he can get them.
This is the season for them to swarm and he has  gotten 6 swarms. I usually try to take pictures if I am home or able to go with him. These swarmed in a tree up on the hill by our house and I was home so I took these photos.

We don't have any big plans for his birthday except he wants to go to Kowloons for dinner so I think that is what we will do tonight.
I also want to say Happy Birthday to my friend Randy in Maine. I don't have a recent photo of him since I didn't get to see him this year. I plan to take a trip back there for our class reunion next year in July so maybe the following year I will have a picture LOL.
Well that's it for me for today with 2 blogs in 2 days I think I am pushing it LOL...

South Umpqua Prom 2009

Sat. was the Prom and all the kids gathered at Evergreen Park again this year. There were so many beautiful dresses and georgeous girls with handsome guys. I had a great time taking pictures of lots of them. I am going to use a smilebox with a slideshow because I have so many photo's. I also did a couple of Trista and Desi that I will post first.

I just wanted to post a prom photo of Trista and Desi. I have lots more that I will post later.
They were so beautiful in their dresses.

Bridal Shower

Last week-end was Danielle's bridal shower given by her best friends and bridesmaids. Misty, Hailey and Shelly.
The girls did a wonderful job on the decorations and the food was delicious and all made by Shelly.

We played a few fun games and I even won a prize of some gardening tools, an apron, gloves and a few plants.

There were lots of great gifts including a metal turtle made by Gina.... She does awesome work and is at the Farmers Market in Roseburg every Sat. with her unique designs.

She got cook books, aprons, A beautiful tablecloth and of course the regular stuff like... Frying pans, Beautiful dishes, Bowls, Sheets and Pillows. I can't remember everything but there was lots to OOHHHH and Ahhhhh about.

We are so happy that Danielle and Sebastian will be joining our family on June 6th. They are already part of our family but June 6th will make it official I guess.....

I can't wait to take the wedding photo's..... We are all excited and can't believe it is almost here already.

I Wish, I Wish I had a Sis......

Here is Carter and I think he is saying he wishes he had a sister..... Oh O.K. maybe it is his Mom and Nana that is saying that LOL.....
I haven't said anything much on my blog because most of you that read my blog also reads either Jenn's or Jamie's and they already posted the news. I am thrilled of course to be Nana again and we just want a healthy baby be it boy or girl......there is no harm in wishing right?

Carter has been her for the last 2 weeks and I have got to play with him every day so all I have been doing is taking pictures of him and playing.
He likes to blow the wishes but he tries to blow them with his nose....

He is so funny.....
He loves to walk up the road to go see Hilary...

He has his routine when he is here. He has to feed the deer and then it is the birds..

Yes it is the same thing every time. He would empty the bucket of grain if he could.
We have a small bucket with a lid that we keep the deer food in and the other day I heard him just laughing and peeked around the corner to see him running back and forth from the bucket to the deer dish with his coffee can putting food in it. He was going just as fast as he could because he knew if I caught him it was locking the lid down. He has learned how to get it open now so we are in trouble.....
I didn't get the camera in time as I was just laughing at him so much.
Well that is it for today.... I am going to Danielle's wedding shower so I am sure I will have lots of pictures to share in the next day or so.

Our Cat

This blog is about our last cat that we had and his name was bone. I say was because last week the neighbor ran over him. He was Jim's cat because he rescued him from starvation about 3 years ago. He got his name because he was always being seen by Jim out back by the boat and he would never let anyone get close to him. Jim said come look at this cat he is so straggly and ugly. He said I have seen ugly cats but this one is ugly to the bone. Well Jim started feeding him and soon they became best friends. We took him to the vet and had him neutered and got all his shots. That cat followed Jim everywhere he went. He slept on the arm of his chair and he always had to have 1 paw touching Jim,


He liked to catch lizards on the wall and bring them to Jim or shrews or mice.
He didn't like to stay around when Carter came to visit because Carter was too loud for him.
The last week that Carter was here Bone decided he liked him (much to Carters delight).
He even let him pet him and was following him all over the place.

He even thought he could cut down the big tree but stopped to pet Bone.

Maybe need to take a little off that tail......

Bone wanted to share Carters Cheetos and Carter didn't care but his Mama did.....

I am glad that I got these pictures of him that day....

We are going to really miss him and Jim is going to be lost without him.
